Puppet making and performance workshops

Try your hand at making your own puppet with this hands-on workshop. Utilizing recycled and reclaimed materials participants will get a chance to make their own puppet to take home. Engaging for all ages, kids, and adults.

Pico’s Puppet Palace offers a wide variety of workshops for schools, the workplace, or festivals. The bespoke workshops engage creativity and are tailored to fit with curriculum or festival experiences and to meet learning outcomes. The workshops make a great end-of-term activity as they are fun, educational, and memorable. All materials are provided and workshops can range from 1 hour, a half-day, or a full-day experience. Sally and Jesse are experienced with working with a diverse range of people and ages. In the workshops, participants can create their own puppet characters from the ground up using recycled and repurposed materials. Depending on the length of the workshop they can explore the puppets, learn simple manipulation and performance techniques, and devise their own play collaborating with others. These workshops encourage creativity, curiosity, empathy, and imagination. Pico’s Puppet Palace can also provide professional development workshops in storytelling for staff, especially in a library setting.
